We like to reach different communities, and we know not everyone is suited to outdoor work. Some of us like to show our support in other ways, and for you we have the following special events which help Celebrate the Shade in Savannah and do good works by helping to raise funds for planting trees.
The Savannah Tree Foundation celebrates Arbor Day every year by conducting a small-scale targeted tree planting, or mulching and pruning, at a special place, usually a social service agency or school. In the past, we’ve planted trees at Greenbriar Children’s Center and Bethesda Home for Boys. In the past, we’ve also held poster contests for school age children and Arbor Day fundraising campaigns.
Georgia Arbor Day is always the third Friday in February.
National Arbor Day is always the last Friday in April.
No fall is complete without at least one celebration of our success with our friends, so we hold a party each fall called the Fall Frolic. Fall Frolic 10 will be a festive fundraiser for the trees celebrated with friends old and new. Join us on September 13, 2018 for an evening of live music, a silent auction, open bar, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and tours of the Ships of the Sea Museum.
