We like to reach different communities, and we know not everyone is suited to outdoor work. Some of us like to show our support in other ways, and for you we have the following special events which help Celebrate the Shade in Savannah and do good works by helping to raise funds for planting trees.
Arbor Day
The Savannah Tree Foundation celebrates Arbor Day every year by conducting a small-scale targeted tree planting, or mulching and pruning, at a special place, usually a social service agency or school. In the past, we’ve planted trees at Greenbriar Children’s Center and Bethesda Home for Boys. In the past, we’ve also held poster contests for school age children and Arbor Day fundraising campaigns.
Fall Frolic
No fall is complete without at least one celebration of our success with our friends, so we hold a party each fall called the Fall Frolic. The 2011 Fall Frolic 3 will be a festive evening amidst a maritime forest with jazz music, tempting silent auction items, spirited refreshments, and friends old and new. Join us on October 12, 2011 for this evening of delta cuisine and fundraiser for the trees.
Special thanks to our 2011 Fall Frolic 3 sponsors:
