Savannah Tree Foundation is excited to announce our new Executive Director—Zoe Rinker!
A Savannah-native who most recently lived in Baltimore, MD, Zoe is eager to bring her urban policy experience back to her hometown after a decade away building a diverse career in community development, city planning, and organizational management. She is dedicated to setting a clear and bold vision for STF as we continue to advocate for the critical protection of Chatham County’s urban tree canopy.
Zoe joins us after three years innovating urban planning research at a real estate technology startup based in Washington, DC. Prior to that, Zoe managed the Baltimore City Demolition Department, where she expanded city-wide deconstruction efforts and worked closely with community stakeholders to create green spaces on post-demolition sites. Zoe started her career in executive support roles with the Baltimore City Permits and Code Enforcement Division and Neighborworks America. She graduated with honors from Yale University with a dual degree in Anthropology and International Studies.
Zoe is very happy to be back in Savannah and is currently teaching her Wisconsin-native husband, Rob, the joys of the Salt Life. In her free time, Zoe enjoys cooking, home renovation, woodworking, and playing with her dogs under the shade of backyard live oaks. She is also re-learning all the fun restaurants and cafes in town, so feel free to reach out to her at firstname.lastname@example.org with any recommendations or with any questions about trees!
